Local Organizations Host 19th Ward Aldermanic Candidate Forum Feb. 1
A 19th Ward aldermanic candidate forum will be held Tues., Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St.  Invited participants are the candidates whose names will appear on the official ballot: Anne Schaible, Ray Coronado, Matt O’Shea, Phil Sherlock and George Newell.
The forum will be moderated by Esta Kallen, President of the League of Women Voters of Chicago. Admission is free and seating is on a first come/first served basis.
Candidates will be asked to answer questions on topics such as education, safety, business development and city finances with a focus on how these issues affect the 19th Ward. Questions will be accepted from the audience.
The forum is presented by the Beverly Area Planning Association, Mount Greenwood Civic Association, Beverly Improvement Association, Southwest Beverly Improvement Association, Southwest Morgan Park Civic Association and League of Woman Voters of Chicago, and Vanderpoel Improvement Association.
Planning committee members include Matt Walsh (BAPA), Jim Parrilli (SWBIA), Nancy Pepper (Mt. Greenwood Civic Assn.), Stephanie Posey (SWMPCA), Jim McAloon (BIA), Neil Glynn (BIA), Leslie Corbett (League of Woman Voters of Chicago), and Russell Nicholson (VIA).
