PLAID Academy has for years thanked the students, parents, businesses and community during November for all their support. At this time I would like to thank the staff at PLAID When August rolls around the staff begins looking forward to the new school year. The reasons are as different as the staff members, but all have a belief in PLAID Academy.
My thanks to: TingTing Branit for her wonderful work in exposing students to not only Chinese lettering, but also Chinese culture; Thomas Clemens, a truly knowledgeable person, not only in academics, but in the lessons of life; Linda Condon who brings creativity and beauty to the school; Debbie Franzen, who keeps PLAID organized and who chose PLAID for her children and took on the PLAID family as her own; Dr. Nicole Nobel, who in her academic counseling provides students with real solutions for real problems in a professional manner that she passes on to the students.
Thanks also, to: Donna Pittman, who has brought so many gifts, great energy and insight to PLAID this year; Lilly Ruvolo, whose dedication and involvement has been a blessing since the day she arrived; Maureen Ryan, truly a spiritual woman whose simple makes me feel grounded and peaceful; Daniel Smith, who keeps us current with Hip-Hop and makes us think that we’re not as old as we may feel; Peg Smith who for 51 years has continued to be my coach and cheerleader each day in addition to being my loving sister.
Thank you to: Diane Walker, who has been a quiet, unwavering support even before PLAID was conceived -- I’ve never known PLAID without Diane; Rauquaia Wallace, who through the Discover Music program helps PLAID students find success in areas in which they have struggled; Susan Weg, who has always been a problem solver and go-getter, and who has a heart big enough for all of us -- Mrs. Weg on a daily basis reminds me that no one walks alone at PLAID; Michelle Wilson, the newest to our staff, who comes in each day with a smile and energy that reminds us what dedicated teaching is.
I take this opportunity to let you know that I am proud and pleased to have introduced you to the staff at PLAID Academy.
