Souith Side Irish Parade Family Fest

 South Side Irish Parade Committee and Beverly Arts Center will host the South Side Irish Parade Family Fest on Sat., March 13, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Center, 2407 W. 111 th St.
According to planners, the Irish-themed festival is a new way of embracing the Beverly/Morgan Park community’s proud Irish heritage. And, as with the Parade, Chicagoland families are invited to join in the celebration. |

LSC Election Update
|

You can make a difference in our local schools by running for your Local School Council (LSC).
Chicago Public Schools have Local School Councils (LSCs) to help with the operations of each school. The primary responsibilities of LSCs include approving how funds and resources are allocated, developing and monitoring the annual school improvement plan, and evaluating and monitoring the school’s principal. Elementary school LSCs consist of 11 voting members: 1 principal, 6 parent representatives, 2 community representatives and 2 teacher representatives.
High School LSCs consist of 12 voting members: 1 principal, 6 parent representatives, 2 community representatives, 2 teacher representatives and 1 student representative.
Candidate forms are available at your school, CPS Area Offices, Chicago Public Libraries, or at www.cps.edu. Completed forms must be returned by 3 p.m., Mar. 11 at local schools. |
